| | You sometimes experience strange sensations when you visit an exhibition : some paintings "talk" to you, some bewitch you, others even leave you speechless. That rare dialogue, which Starts so suddenly and imperiously you must accept it without delay and enjoy it to the full, Otherwise you might regret it. J.Ch. Fabiani's painting gives access to such exceptional moments and, if you want to, you can pro long them. Do not fear, his painting Will take you by the hand and, it won't even for an instant, occur to you to give up the exchange it offers in every possible way and in every shade of color. What is to be described first in his painting? Is it the firm, decisive and final!ine? Is it the color that shapes the painting in such an obvious way that it ravishes the senses? The composition that you fmd gratifying and that fulfills your view of the world just like that, Very simply, straightaway? Hard to tell what attracts you and holds you as much about the painter but the fact you like his way of recreating the world which holds you captive in a way Way to add then? How to explain the exhilaration you feel in front of his works, the deep Contentrnent that overcomes you, and the certainty of sharing a privileged moment? Of course,Art History is there to put words the techniques he artiste uses Jean-Charles Fabiani. is part of that XXth Century movement known as Pop-Art. 1t is an art which seems to be most simple and is content With precise outlines and themes which are regarded as commonplace. An art which does not hesitate to tackle the shock of flat colours. An art which seems almost innocent and yet is most complex, for nothing can be improvised for fear of failure. As for Fabiani, his Academically perfect pictorial technique stands between the "ligne Claire" dear to the Illustrious Belgian illustrators, between Andy Warhol's healthy provocations and Hergé's Demanding simplicity, between the eye of the painter and the eye of a child. Undoubtedly he shares the awesome demanding nature of both who keep on recreating the world and are so very Right in this proud undertaking. Who are we indeed, poor mortals of !little faith, to be satisfied with the world as it is? That being sai d, you still cannot understand why you cannot take your eyes off that landscape in Provence, which is perfect in its proportions and the choice of its nuances, or the so gratifying view of a village in the Cap Corse between sea and mountain, those immensely Voluptuous poppies, those quiet characters so happy in their colorful c10thes or so serene, even when-and especially so-without c10thes on, those dreamy allegories that take you so ' Far away, those references to the Far East which puzzle you in a subtle way. And why do Those seascapes, some which evoke so sparingly the mountain, the sea or a boat, give you such a feeling of serenity? Let me unveil part of the secret: this fascination finds its origin in the skill of the artist, in his Sucre choices of composition and colors, and in the perfection of his technique. And here is the second part of the secret: what leads you to the world of the artist and carries you away is born of the conviction that he has slowly you a difficult walk through the Corsican "maquis" to lead you towards Beauty. 1t is as simple as that. You are easily convinced by his limpid Drawing, the harmony and yet violent contrast of his colors, and his daring innovations exhibition will be able to take you, elsewhere and always, towards Beauty and thus Truth. 1t Quickens each encounter, creates confidence and sharpens one's curiosity. J.Ch. Fabiani's painting leaves the viewer both pensive and exhilarated. What an achievement!"
